 Let’s go back now to our first verse and look at the way now in which we can develop the words. We have set the scene which will prepare us eventually for that chorus which tells the world, the suns not shining the birds aren’t singing, where is she? She’s gone.

 

Let’s take a look now at first verse.

 

You may have thought that the verse may be similar to the chorus in the sense of terrible loss, birds not singing, sun not shining but no; it’s a contrast between the two. The verse is about - here is everyone having fun, waking up, winters over, chatting in the streets. The contrast is my own sadness because that’s not happening for me.
